Daniel is currently the CEO of The AECF (Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund), a USD 360 million impact focused fund that targets the ‘missing middle’ and invests in innovative enterprises in Agribusiness and Renewable energy across more than 30 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. He is a seasoned development finance professional with more than 25 years of global senior leadership experience in microfinance & development finance, SME development, management consulting, manufacturing, logistics and oil & gas across Africa.
With prior working stints in Coca-Cola Africa, ExxonMobil, AMSCO, USAID, African Development Bank and Real People microfinance, Daniel brings a wealth of extensive and diverse experience, including in SME funding and in deepening financial inclusion.
His diverse experience cuts across both the public and private sector with a passion in SME financing and development. He has lived in West, East, North and Southern Africa and has a strong appreciation of the diverse cultures on the continent. Married and with two sons, Daniel is a Mechanical Engineer and holds an MBA in Strategic Management and an MSc in Finance.
Daniel sits on a number of Boards including the Global Board of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE).
