Exporters Forum 2010 The second annual exporter’s forum organized by the Export Promotion Council took place on Tuesday 29th June 2010. The event brought together stakeholders in the export sector with a view to discussing key developments in international trade and impact on Kenya’s performance. This would lead to developing concrete positions on issues impacting on export trade and coming up with recommendations that are factored in key government policy networks. Read more

ICCO’s mission is to work towards a world in which people live in dignity and prosperity, a world where poverty and injustice are no longer present. The organization recently organized a breakfast meeting at the Jacaranda Hotel in Nairobi, on Wednesday 10th of March 2010 from 8am to 12am.
»82 Dairy Service Providers KDB Accredited

MESPT, together with partners SITE and Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) facilitate a milk quality improvement program. Dairy service providers are accredited by KDB, who in turn train milk traders and farmers to handle milk safely, thereby improving overall milk quality. The event, held on 21st January 2010 culminated in the award of accreditation certificates to 82 dairy service providers from across Kenya.

The 5th National BDS Conference was held from 6th to 7th October 2009 in Mombasa, Kenya. The highly successful event brought together 129 participants from several organizations to discuss issues surrounding business environment reforms. Participants were drawn from different countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, Malawi, and Zambia.

MESPT has just finished a value chain analysis of the Timau milkshed. The analysis shows that despite problems of occasional and persistent droughts in recent years, the study area has significant potential for milk production.

»Brookside Breeders Show

The Brookside Livestock Breeders Show was held in Nairobi from 10th to 12th June 2009. The show is a premier livestock exhibition and sale that has been held for the last six years and has grown to be one of the major events in the Agricultural Society of Kenya’s calendar. The show is part of an effort to educate and provide farmers with information on best practices concerning their livestock enterprises. MESPT sponsored over 1,500 smallholder dairy farmers from the areas of Timau, Meru and Taita to attend the show.
